Анотація:
The author analyses glaring contradictions in the formation of national identity in Russia. The aims to form civic nation in Russia are declared at official level and in scientific discourse. But in reality, we are often confronted with pro-imperial attitudes and practices both in political circles and among the general public. Replying to the question why the empire is posed as nation, the author draws an analogy between today's Russian state and the Third Reich. Moreover, in the context of imperial nationalism the author shapes his ideas about prospects of the post-soviet Russian society for the years immediately ahead, as well as in long-term outlook.
