Transformants Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora carrying pECL18 plasmid have been obtained with the help of the modified calcium method. The transformation frequency was 2.8 × 103 colonies per μg of plasmid DNA. It has been established that the calcium competence of E. carotovora could be obtained by subjecting the cell from the logarithmic phase of growth to 0.1 М CaCl2 per 5 × 108 cell/ml. The frequency of the spontaneous loss of pECL18 plasmid is less than 1%. The ability to restrict the phage reproduction and the nuclease synthesis by the transformants has been studied. Foreign and homing RM-systems are autonomous, i.e. inhibit the phage reproduction independently. The obtained data are the prerequisite to construct a biotechnological system on the basis of non-pathogenic E. carotovora.

The distilled water transfer through a bentonite membrane into a vessel with tritium (HTO &lt;&lt; H2O) and deuterium (99.84% of D2O)) water has been experimentally studied. The phenomenon of isotopic osmosis is observed in the series of experiments. It is shown that this effect is caused by the difference in the hydrogen isotopic composition of water in two conjugated vessels. The values of the rate constants and the osmosis pressure are assessed.

The pigment synthesis loss is observed under influence of heavy metal (HM) ions on bacteria in the hard culture medium. After the recultivation of such bacteria on a medium without HM ions, the pigment synthesis renews. It is lost again by cultivation on the medium with HM ions, but with rather higher their concentration. The loss of the bacterial pigment synthesis under influence of HM ions may be used for the environment HM pollution monitoring.

The purification of model aqueous solutions and liquid radioactive waste (LRW) from uranium has been studied. We have been used first synthesized amino compound oligoether (AOE) containing phosphorus acid groups (OEPh) and the known polymers — branched polymer polyethyleneimine and polyacrylamide. The ultrafiltration membrane method was used as well. The fractional retention of uranium decreases in series: AOE ≥ OEPh ≥ polyethylenimine ≥ polyacrylamide. The elaborated purification method of LRW from uranium by using the complexation on the developed polymers and the further ultrafiltration can be used in the areas suffered from the accident at the Chernobyl NPP and areas of the extraction and reprocessing of uranium ores.
