Розглянуто історію започаткування окремих особистих зібрань, зокрема, колекцій книг відомого бібліофіла, композитора, музичного критика початку XX ст. С.В.Юферова, херсонського книголюба М.А.Ємельянова, родинного архіву Гошкевичів тощо. Проаналізовано особливості окремих примірників з фонду книжкових рідкісних видань та висвітлено цікаві подробиці стосовно історії їх видання. Розкрито роль краєзнавчих джерел у формуванні фондів документальних цінностей. Висвітлено питання збереження рідкісних фондів. The article is focused on the book and handwritten collections, which form the rare and valuable fund of O. Honchar KRUSL. The history of establishment of some personal collections is considered as well, in particular, the collections of books of the known bibliophile, composer, musical critic of the beginning of the 20th century S. V. Yuferov, M. A. Emel’yanova, Goshkevich’s private book archive etc. The main issue is the features of separate copies from the fund of book rareness and interesting details are reflected in relation to the history of their edition. Attention is concentrated on the role of regional sources as means of documentary values funds forming. The main question is the problem of saving of rare funds within the library. Проаналізовано методику та завданння цієї діяльності, висвітлено кращі здобутки Одеського товариства в цій галузі. Проаналізовано місце науковців Одеси у початковому етапі формування української історії книги як самостійної науки. Odesa Association of History and Antiquities was one of the organizations which contributed to the development of Ukrainian historical book knowledge as independent science. This association’s activity began in the 30s of the 19th century but to the end of the century its trends underwent considerable changes. The main conception peculiarities of Book History in Odesa Association’s works lie in the following: firstly, the striking fact is the lack of any exceptional attitude to orthodox bookishness. Secondly, along with researches, where only separate historical book knowledge information can be found, there appeared first integral scientific works which subject study was clearly Stated Book History problems. The main contribution to the study of Home Book History of Odesa Association was made by such scholars as A. Rystenko, F. Ternovski, M. Paleolog, В. Lyapunov, S. Serafimovich, Y. Grakhov. Besides one should mark the activity of such Odesa scientists who were not the members of the association – В. Lazurski, A. Kirpichnikov. Odesa Association’s activity in the field of History Book Study has the analogy in the subject matter and methodology with the work of other scientific organizations in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Nizhyn, Chernihiv and others of that time and can be considered as a significant part of the general process of the development of Ukrainian historical book knowledge.
