У статті здійснено аналіз наявної літератури щодо зовнішньої політики країн Бенілюксу, викладено зміст основних положень українських і зарубіжних наукових праць. Визначено роль союзу Бенілюкс у європейському просторі. Бенілюкс є важливим об’єднанням як для держав-членів Європей- ського Союзу, так і для європейського континенту загалом. Він відігравав ключову роль у відновленні економіки Бельгії, Нідерландів та Люксембургу після Другої світової війни. Союз Бельгії, Люксембургу та Нідерландів також був каталізатором для створення Співтовариства вугілля і сталі в 1950 році і, зрештою, Європейського економічного співтовариства (ЄЕС) у 1957 році. Успіх Союзу можна пояснити спільними зусиллями трьох держав-членів. Історіографія теми складає певний масив літератури, в основному представленої працями щодо зовнішньої політики окремих країн, які входять до складу Бенілюксу. У вітчизняній історіографії велика увага приділяється проблематиці українсько-бельгійських, українсько-голландських та ін. відносин різних історичних періодів. Натомість у зарубіжній історіографії детально розглянута проблема історичної еволюції політичних механізмів забезпечення функціонування зовнішньої політики країн Бенілюксу. Окремі дослідження присвячені відносинам Європейського Союзу та Союзу Бельгії, Люксембургу й Нідерландів, а саме впливу Європейського Союзу на національну ідентичність країн Бенілюксу. У низці праць висвітлена, насамперед, взаємодія країн Бенілюксу як на внутрішньо-політичному рівні, так і на міжнародній арені. Велика кількість робіт висвітлює концептуальні проблеми зовнішньої політики країн Бенілюксу та їхній вплив на міжнародній арені в історичному аспекті й на сучасному етапі. Автор доходить висновку, що зовнішня політика країн Бенілюксу щодо України досліджувалася зарубіжними авторами дещо побіжно. У більшості праць розглядається проблематика становлення взаємин Україна-Бенілюкс лише з позицій відносин України та Європейського Союзу як єдиного суб’єкта міжнародних відносин.; The article sets out the content of the main theses of Ukrainian and foreign scientific works on the European policy of the Benelux countries. The author determines the role of the Union of Benelux in the European space. Benelux is an important alliance for both member states and for the European continent as a whole. It played a key role in restoring the economies of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg after the Second World War. The Union of Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands also served as a catalyst for the establishment of the Community of Coal and Steel in 1950 and, ultimately, of the European Economic Community (EEC) in 1957. The success of the Union can be explained by the joint efforts of the three Member States. The historiography of the topic includes some scientific spectrum and volume of literature, which consists mainly of works on the foreign policy of individual countries that are part of the Benelux union. In the national historiography, attention is paid to the problems of Ukrainian-Belgian, Ukrainian-Dutch, and others relations of different historical periods. On the other hand, in foreign historiography, the problem of the historical evolution of political mechanisms to ensure the functioning of the foreign policy of the Benelux countries is considered in great detail. Some studies were devoted to the relations between the European Union and the Union of Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, namely the impact of the European Union on the national identity of the Benelux countries. Several works consider the interaction of the Benelux countries on the international scene. A considerable number of works highlights the conceptual problems of the foreign policy of the Benelux countries and their influence on the international arena both in historical aspect and at the present stage. It is concluded that the foreign policy of the Benelux countries towards Ukraine was studied by foreign authors. Most of the works consider the issues of the establishment of Ukraine-Benelux relations only in terms of relations between Ukraine and the European Union as a single organism. У статті аналізуються наукові розвідки зарубіжних та вітчизняних дослідників, присвячені вивченню причин, витоків, перебігу Великого терору в СРСР (1936–1938 рр.), його впливу на діяльність ІІІ Інтернаціоналу та національних секцій. Окрема увага приділена висвітленню в науковій літературі ролі керівництва НКВС та особисто Й. Сталіна в цьому процесі. У контексті проблеми репресій та Великого терору схарактеризовані комплексні наукові дослідження, в яких розглядаються механізми й засоби реалізації терору та репресій проти функціонерів Секретаріату ІІІ Інтернаціоналу та національних секцій. Здійснено спробу узагальнити погляди дослідників проблеми, виявити їхнє спільне бачення та найбільш дискусійні питання.; The article analyzes scientific investigations of foreign and domestic researchers devoted to the causes, origins, ways and means of the Great Terror realization in the USSR (1936–1938), its influence on the activities of the Third International and the subsequent destiny of its leaders. Particular attention is paid to the role of the NKVD leadership and J. Stalin personally in the process. In the context of the problem of repression and the Great Terror, complex scientific researches are considered. It also examines the mechanisms and means of realization of terror and repression, especially on the territory of the USSR, against political opponents of J. Stalin, national minorities, functionaries of the central apparatus of the III International, national sections. Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the Soviet archives published in the first half of the 1990s and the documents (that declassified in 2015) of the Sectoral Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine that help to rethink the phenomenon of the Great Terror. Analyzing the scientific investigations about repression at the Comintern, it was concluded that, according to the researchers, it is advisable to consider the III International both the agent, the instrument and the victim of terror. That is given the simultaneous dependence of repression in the USSR and the Comintern on J. Stalin, the Politburo, the Central Bureau,) and the NKVD, which ultimately resulted into horrific consequences for both the Soviet Union and the Third International. An attempt was made to summarize the views of the problem researchers, to identify their shared visions and the most debatable questions about the problem studied.
