<description>Structural and optical study of ZnS thin films prepared by radio frequency magnetron sputtering at different substrate temperatures
Le Kong; Jinxiang Deng; Liang Chen; Zhen Shen; Jiyou Wang
ZnS thin films were deposited by radio frequency (RF) sputtering with substrate temperatures from room temperature to 400°C. The effect of substrate temperature on structural and optical properties for the ZnS films was investigated. The systematic investigation at different substrate temperatures of the properties of sputtered ZnS films especially optical constants obtained through spectroscopic ellipsometry can provide some guidance for ZnS films to be applied in thin film solar cells as buffer layers. The choice of sputtering fabrication method may promote the full sputtering technique route in CIGS or CZTS solar cells which is beneficial to the solar cell industrialization.

<title>Synthesis and functional properties of mixed titanium and cobalt oxides</title>

<description>Synthesis and functional properties of mixed titanium and cobalt oxides
Ved', M.V.; Sakhnenko, N.D.; Karakurkchi, A.V.; Mayba, M.V.; Galak, A.V.
Peculiarities of plasma-electrolytic oxidation of the aluminum alloys in diphosphate electrolytes are discussed. It is shown that PEO parameters depend on the composition and concentration of the components of the working solutions. The mechanism of cobalt oxides incorporation into the composition of surface layers is proposed. It has been established that the oxidation of titanium in citrate-diphosphate electrolytes promotes the formation of mixed oxide layers TiOx·CoOy. The obtained mixed oxide systems have a developed microporous globular-toroidal surface and are characterized by a complex of enhanced functional properties - corrosion and abrasion resistance, catalytic activity in the carbon (II) oxide conversion reaction.

<title>Relaxation of stress occurring in Cd-Ni diffusion zone with formation of intermetallic phase</title>
<link>http://dspace.nbuv.gov.ua:80/handle/123456789/136896</link>
<description>Relaxation of stress occurring in Cd-Ni diffusion zone with formation of intermetallic phase
Bogdanov, V.V.; Kononenko, V.G.; Volosyuk, M.A.; Volosyuk, A.V.
Relaxation of mechanical stress occurring in Cd-Ni diffusion zone was studied by metallographic methods. Brittle relaxation of tensile stress was revealed in Cd₂₁Ni₅ intermetallic phase growing in the diffusion zone. Evaluation of this stress made by the geometry of macroscopic cracks in the intermetallic phase showed values being by a factor 1.2 lower than stress values calculated by volume defect related with the intermetallic phase formation. As plastic deformation within the intermetallic phase is excluded, whereas brittle relaxation begins at the Cd₂₁Ni₅-Ni boundary, it was concluded that induced in Ni compressive stress relaxed by plastic deformation mechanism to the level of Ni elastic limit.

<description>Single-file diffusion in oxygen underdoped ReBa₂Cu₃O₇₋ₓ (Re=Y, Ho) single crystals
Boiko, Y.I.; Bogdanov, V.V.; Vovk, R.V.; Ort, A.G.; Litvinov, Yu.V.
Analysis of the kinetics of relaxation processes observed at room temperature in the ReBa₂Cu₃O₇₋ₓ (Re=Y, Ho) compounds, having a high-temperature superconductivity is made. It was concluded that the initial (faster) stage of these processes is controlled by a single-file diffusion of oxygen along one-dimensional chains of vacancies, forming in the oxygen sub-lattice of compound with a deficit of oxygen, and final (slow) stage controls by the usual classical diffusion. Presented and discussed the results of two-stage relaxation of the electrical resistance of above mentioned compounds which were a long time (more than three days) at room temperature in air.
