<title>Light collection simulation when determining light yield of single crystal and polycrystalline organic scintillators</title>

<description>Light collection simulation when determining light yield of single crystal and polycrystalline organic scintillators
Gorbacheva, T.E.; Tarasov, V.A.; Galunov, N.Z.
The light-collection coefficients were calculated for different scintillation detectors using discrete optical model. Сharacteristics of optical media, which cannot be measured directly, were fitted using experimental response of scintillation materials with different light collection conditions. Using proposed technique absolute light yield (ALY) of single crystal, composite and polycrystalline scintillators on the base of stilbene, anthracene, pure and doped p-terphenyl were determined. Average ALY values obtained in this study are similar to the results for the single-crystal samples.

<description>XRD method for the determination of internal stresses in KDP crystals and their relationship to the anomalous biaxiality
Puzikov, V.M.; Tkachenko, V.F.; Tsurikov, V.A.
Designed precision method for determining residual stresses in crystals of the KDP on the relative displacement of the rocking curves (RC), caused by the presence of tensile stress, compression from the {110} or {101}, with the asymmetric geometry of the shooting at the reflection. The error in determining the relative displacement of RC in this case is ±1 arcsec. The experimentally determined bias for RD crystals KDP, grown by different methods on samples cut from the prismatic and pyramidal growth sectors of the crystal. The relation between the value of the anomalous biaxiality 2V and a total displacement of RC due to the presence of internal tensile stress, compression in the crystal KDP.

<title>Investigation of origination and development of the surface deformation relief of crystalline materials by laser radiation</title>
<link>http://dspace.nbuv.gov.ua:80/handle/123456789/119558</link>
<description>Investigation of origination and development of the surface deformation relief of crystalline materials by laser radiation
Badiyan, E.E.; Tonkopryad, A.G.; Shekhovtsov, O.V.; Shurinov, R.V.; Zetova, T.R.; Kazachkova, K.S.
In the paper we present the results of the experimental studies of structure of the deformation relief in the form of steps at the exit site of dislocations on polished surface of polycrystalline specimen of aluminum during plastic deformation. It is shown that, despite quasiperiodicity of such structure which is characterized by different values of the grating period and the curved slip lines forming the grate, it leads to diffraction of the laser radiation on it. The analysis of the diffraction patterns obtained in situ during deformation allows us to trace the evolution of the deformation structures. It is experimentally shown that the origination of the dislocation slip in the early stages of plastic deformation can be detected and the direction of slip and change of this direction during plastic deformation can be determined by using the diffraction patterns. The minimal distance between the slip lines which characterize intensive development of the dislocation slip can be detected by the diffraction patterns. Thus the intensity of plastic deformation at all stages can be studied.

<title>Scintillation 2D-matrices for digital tomography</title>
<link>http://dspace.nbuv.gov.ua:80/handle/123456789/119557</link>
<description>Scintillation 2D-matrices for digital tomography
Voronkin, E.F.; Ryzhikov, V.D.; Grinyov, B.V.; Shevchenko, E.Y.
A possibility is shown of tomography applications of scintillation 2D matrices based on aluminum-doped zinc selenide (ZnSe(Al)). Procedures for preparation of multi-element matrices are described, as well as results on inter-element interference. For the first time, chalcogenide scintillators based on zinc selenide were tested on biological objects (blood vessels) at ”Filips”, Israel, for detection of cholesterol plaques.
