На основе оригинальных и литературных данных от начала исследований Bacillariophyta в конце ХІХ столетия до настоящего времени впервые составлен систематический список таксонов, зарегистрированных в УП. Список Васіllariophyta в УП отвечает современной таксономии отдела и насчитывает 544 вида (651 внутривидових таксонов, включая номенклатурный тип видов). За последние 35 лет в УП впервые зарегистрированы 74 вида (77 внутривидовых таксонов, включая номенклатурный тип видов), пополнивших альгофлору Украины. В первой части обзора обсуждаются изученность, распределение и таксономические особенности Васіllariophyta в пределах Волынского Полесья и для территории УП в целом.; In the overview, diatom investigations are systematized for Ukrainian Polissya (UP), the area occupying almost 20 % of the territory of Ukraine. UP has the most branched hydrological network in Ukraine and has numerous natural areas of different protection status. A systematic list of Васіllariophyta taxa recorded in UP was arranged for the first time based on original and literature data, since the beginning of the diatom studies in UP in the end of the 19th century until present. The list of Васіllariophyta in UP corresponds to the modern taxonomy of the division and counts 544 species (651 infraspecific taxa, including nomenclatural types of species). For the past 35 years, there are 74 species (77 infraspecific taxa, including nomenclatural types of species) were first recorded in UP as an additional contribution to the diatom flora on the Ukrainian territory.
