"Forgotten Ema» is a paper tablet with an image on of the lost thing in the sea it, which was brought to the Shinto temple as the offering to a Dragon-God.&#13;
The region of distribution of such tablets is described in the work, as well as what exactly the Japanese depicted on die sacred tablets, in what temples they brought such tablets and from what these tablets were made are analyzed. The beliefs of fishermen related to the successful fishing are described. Also the purpose of the article was to acquaint readers with the role of shamans in the life of fishermen and the relation of the Japanese to the sea.

Holidays and ceremonies of calendar cycle in the Kyoto region and other localities of Japan are characterized in the article. The population of Kyoto adhered to the ancient ceremonies long enough, due to influential Buddhist and Shinto monks. The author repeats over and over again, that in a city culture the traditional ceremonial calendar disappears gradually, remaining the prerogative of temple’s celebrations.

The history of origin of Japanese kagura (from Japanese «music of deities»), folk theatrical art which is based on the recreation of the content of the old Japanese myths about the deity’s coming to the earth is covered in the article. The typology of folk kagura is offered and its varieties are analyzed:miko-kagura, torimono-kagura, yudate-kagura, shishi-kagura. Stage actions, incorporated under the name of kagura, in particular of Kyushu Island, Miyadzaki are described.
