Acoustic resonance in a weak-ferromagnetic iron borate monocrystal was investigated. It was shown that observed field dependence of positions and magnitudes of the resonance peaks can be explained within framework of the developed theory of magnetic birefringence of sound in the inhomogeneous magnetized sample.

Nadutov, V.M.; Vashchuk, D.L.; Pilipenko, A.N.; Davidenko, O.A.; Beloshenko, V.A.
The temperature dependence of internal friction on frequency of ~3 Hz and ~60 Hz were studied in Invar Fe-35.0% Ni-0.49% Mn-0.03%C alloy after annealing at 1373 K and combined severe plastic deformation (SPD) by hydroextrusion and subsequent drawing with the total degree of accumulated deformation ε Σ = 4.69. The reduction of the relaxation IF peak intensity is observed in deformed sample of the alloy at ~380 K (the activation energy 0.82-0.93 eV) due to decreasing of mechanical and magnetomechanical relaxation losses the contribution of which is renewed after ageing of the deformed alloy. The damping growth nearby temperatures 780-820 K after combined SPD and partial its reduction after ageing of the alloy were revealed. The estimated activation energy of the relaxation process is 1.82-1.97 eV.

Sysoiev, Yu.A.
Results of the studies on forming the conductive film in discharge gap of the trigger injector during the operation of vacuum-arc plasma source are presented. The film was deposited on the end of ceramic tube surface used for filling the discharge gap trigger injectors. Experiments were performed in the practicable conditions for technological processes of protective and decorating coating in the plasma sources with magnetic confinement of the cathode spot and chromium and titanium cathodes. It was revealed the cathode materials and conditions of the coatings deposition influence on structure and properties of the films obtained on ceramics Al₂O₃-SiO₂-BaO₂. The rate of the film growth was defined, its variation is in the range of 1.1-3.3 nm/s.

One of the actual problems today is creation of the long term data storage systems. This paper presents the research results that allow implementing technical solution proposed by the authors of this work a few years ago to create the long term storage optical discs based on single crystal sapphire. It is shown that the problem of data reading through the anisotropic substrate can be solved by using the single crystal optical compensating elements. The experimental results confirm an efficiency of the proposed method of aberration compensation for the long term data storage sapphire media.
